I have a Sony STR-DN1080 Audio-Video receiver mounted in a cabinet. There is a 1/8" jack on the back for a remote IR sensor. Will this device work by itself and plug into my receiver (for mounting outside the cabinet door) that my IR remote will then control the receiver? Thank you,
i pulled some tech manuals - they are silent about the IR blaster / extender. the first thing that i would do is look on the back of your receiver to confirm that there is an IR Baster or Extender port. normally sony labels the ports something to that effect. if there is ( I apologize for some of the manuals are so general we can not be certain ) - then i would order the following as it has more heads - it is a little more expensive - but it is a newer version. if money is a huge issue (we realize that money is in short supply for everyone right now) - then i would try that one that you selected. here is the link: https://www.parts-distribution.com/products/new-oem-sony-infrared-ir-blaster-originally-shipped-with-xbr43x800d-xbr-43x800d
