If this turntable is not to be used for microwave what is?
good question. the microwaves that we have researched - a glass plate did NOT come with the microwave. on three different occasions, we have called sharp and asked them how do we heat up a cup of coffee? the answers that sharp have provided have always included remove the metal tray - but after that, their recommendations have been silly. We have researched installing a glass tray in place the metal - we have found that this is cost prohibitive as it would include obtaining a new plate, a new support and possibly a new shaft. We don't claim to have all the answers - but we do claim to be open, honest and transparent - this very basic question - the answer eludes us too.
