good question. this particular model number has the ability to be vented. this means all the fumes are routed outside. if your microwave is vented, no charcoal filter (resides above the door and behind the vent) is required. if your microwave is NOT vented, please send a picture and precise measurements of the existing! happy to go through our inventory for you!
