QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Model # PN43F4500AF TYPE #PN43F4500 APRIL 2013 which remote do I need? Thank you for your help 😊

thanks for the question - the original remote is overpriced in our opinion, note, $51.99.  there is another samsung remote that is less expensive and will control your TV just fine.  no programming required.  here is a link:  https://www.parts-distribution.com/products/new-oem-samsung-remote-control-specifically-for-pn43f4500af-t24d310

  • My current remote does not power on or off the TV, however all other buttons work. Will this new remote solve the power on and off problem?

what is the model number of your TV?  Please know that Samsung uses both WIFI remotes and Infrared Remotes.  The remote that you inquired about is an Infrared Remote.  This means that all the buttons on the remote are Infrared.  Before purchasing, consider doing a test of the existing remote that does not work quite right.

    Here is the test:

Grab your smart phone or digital camera.  Grab the malfunctioning Remote.  Go to a dimly lit room.  Point the remote control into a camera and hold down any button (not the power button).  Look through the camera.  Through the camera, you should see a faint flicker.  This is the infrared light.  Next, repeat and do the same thing by holding down the power button.  you should see a flicker.

What does the flicker mean?  The flicker means that the remote is transmitting data.  If you see a flicker when holding down the power button, this means that the remote is transmitting and there is a strong likelihood that a new remote will not solve your problem.
