How do you remove battery from this remote?
turn the remote over so the back is facing up. the lower 1/4 of the back of the remote slides right off.

How is the genuine Sony remote for Sony receiver STRDH590 different from the compatible remote?
The genuine is OEM from sony - we do sell our private brand remote which I believe you are referring to. Our private brand remote works and looks exactly the same as the oem remote. The only difference is it was manufactured by us.
