Midea uses two different types of window sliders - the main distinguishing difference is the hole shape. Some window adapters have a hole that is more of a circle shape. Other window adapters use a hole that is more like an oval. HERE is the white window adapter that has a circular shaped hole - this window slider is 26-5/8 inches in length and 6-1/2 Inches Tall. For those that have a smaller space to fill - these sliders can be cut with a saw.
Some users may have a space to fill that is larger than the 26-5/8 inches. So the extension that you inquired about is purchased. This extension slides into the window slider. Some manufacturers includes nylon pins to keep the two parts at a standard length - Midea does NOT include such pins. The extension is 24-1/4 Inches Long and 6-1/2 Inches Tall.
