I need a remote for a Samsung 65 inch tv with a model number UN85RU8000F. The type is UN65RU8000. I lost the original remote for this tv. Purchased a universal remote and I’m trying to set up an inside antenna for my tv. But I can’t, do feel like I need the original remote instead of a universal remote. I am hoping you can help me.
I think we can help. first, the two numbers following the UN is the size of the TV. Samsung is reporting that they did make a 65 inch TV of the RU8000 - but they did not make a 85 inch ( UN85RU8000F may be a typo ). next, an original remote is generally NOT required to setup an antenna. but many cable installers like and will require the original for their installation. click HERE for the remote that Samsung recommends for the UN65RU8000.
