Can the V600 use any other slide holder than what can with the unit? The holder only holds 4 lies and it doesn't actually HOLD them, you put the holder on the glass and then lay the slides n the 4 holes so they don't slide around...this seems wrong...
that is the correct holder. i realize it is a lousy holder. and it is. this is what epson designed for your scanner. so questions that you may have: 1. is there a different holder that can position more than 4 slides at a time? for the v600 - No. 2. If I use a different holder - like the holder for the v700 - will it work? no, other holders will not work - for example, the v700 holder has tabs and pegs that are in the wrong position. 3. how do i handle all the wiggle room? i use a v700 - the slide holder has wiggle room as well, I simply position the slides to one side or position of the holder so I have some semblance of consistency. 4. yes, the holder simply positions the slide in the correct area to be scanned. the scannable area for film is NOT the bottom glass but the window in the top of the lid.
