You will need a reset utility. The Epson reset utility is an application that was created by Epson - This application is FREE. A couple of things to keep in mind. We recommend running this reset utility just prior to installing the new part. Most people get hung up on the reset….not the changing of the waste assembly. This reset program only works on windows based PCs. The printer should be connected to the computer using a USB connection. Here is the link: https://epson.com/Support/wa00819 -
Can I install oem waste ink assembly in xp610 printer at home?
most people do this fix at home. after the waste ink assembly is installed - be sure to clear the error message from the printer by running the attached link from a windows based PC that connected to the printer using a USB Cable. https://epson.com/Support/wa00819

do the parts come with a reset code?
it is not a code but a simple link. click HERE for the link. note, this link only works on PCs (does not work on apple) - and the printer must be connected to the computer through a USB. this a FREE reset provided by epson and is considered a temporary because it does NOT take your page count to zero rather it reduces it by 30% - 40%.
