Instructions For Activating My Printer
- You will need to remove a thin black strip that covers the opening where the print tray is inserted. Using a screwdriver works pretty well - simply pry off the black plastic part. The picture below is for a different printer but will help you to identify the black part.
- Make sure that the printer is plugged in and off.
- Hold down the the {RESUME} button and hold down the {POWER} button and wait about 5 seconds or so. Note, the {RESUME} button is the button of with the Triangle pointing down.
- Release the {RESUME} button but continue to hold down the {POWER} button. Still holding down the {POWER} button, double-click the {RESUME} key. Release the {POWER} button.
- Verify that the printer is in the service mode by clicking {RESUME} than {POWER}. If you are in service mode, your printer will print a diagnostic sheet that lists it's ROM number and list the CDR Sensor = OK in red for the last line.
- Go to the destination option by clicking the {RESUME} button 5 times then click {POWER}.
- Next, click the {RESUME} button 4 times and then {POWER}. This is Europe, CD-R enabled. Yes, even if you are in the states or elsewhere, you want to set your printer for Europe.
- Press {RESUME} and then {POWER}
- Confirm the settings by clicking {POWER} - You must confirm otherwise it will default to Japan!
Install the drivers & Software!
- You can use the USA Drivers - but you have to uninstall and reinstall them!
- Download the software - Try hitting the following site: http://www.mediafire.com/?dwibb4y060ycr If this site is down, you can use Nero.
