what does the Home button do?
It allows you to access settings, apps (netflix, hulu, etc) - change sources, etc.

Is this a voice activated remote control?
If you look between the volume and channel controls - there is a colorful button that has a microphone just above it. You have to hold down the button and talk into the microphone. It is NOT like our apple phone where we say "Hi Siri" - Does that make sense?

How can you know what model of the control- I don’t know where to look that information. But it looks like the control for my Sony tv.

the volume bottom allows me to increase the volume, but will only allow me to reduce the sound to a certain level which is still too loud.
a new knob will not solve this problem assuming that you have the original knob. this is our suggestion. remove the knob. turn the volume all the way down. reinstall the knob. sometimes when a knob is not installed correctly - the adjustments are may not be unexpected.

How can I fast forward
there is a circle or a ring towards the top of the remote. If you press the center of the ring - on screen navigation appears. pressing the right hand side of the ring should be the fast forward button. note, this ring is not labelled as such.

the center outer ring - push the left side of the circle.

Does this remote use batteries? How do you replace?
there is a small arrow on the back side of the remote. the entire back of the remote slides off. slide off the back of the remote in the direction of the arrow and lift the back of the remote up.
