yes, the main unit contains batteries that do need to be changed from time to time - depending on usage. your unit takes Four AA Size Batteries.

I'm getting an E indication, what is wrong
normally, there is a number after the E. what is that number? also, what is the model number of your blood pressure device?

My cuff is 13 3/4" - 17 3/4" says to replace every couple of years. Not sure if this one the same circumference. Have had current replacement cuff probably 5 years.
look on the back or the bottom of the machine - what is the model number?
