I understand your issues - if I were you - I would first replace the original microphone - this is probably the least expensive option. before you purchase this - you may want to verify your old microphone is plugged in all the way and securely - and we did have another person with the same issue....their issue was solved when they figured out that using the microphone when driving around and the window open was creating this same effect.
