QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • does this work for the v600?

no.  the v600 has a much small scanable area - and the tabs are in the wrong place.  and the pegs behind the tab are the wrong size.  here is the correct tray.  https://www.parts-distribution.com/products/epson-perfection-v600-slide-35mm-negative-film-holder?_pos=1&_sid=b035f1098&_ss=r

  • Please let me know if you will have Epson Perfection V700 - 35mm Film Holders available in the future. Thank you!

we are getting some in towards the end of the week.  which ones are you needing.  the v800 holders work on the v700.

  • How should I scan stereo slides on my v 700?

there are no genuine OEM holders for the stereo slides.  you could probably have on customer made for a few hundred bucks.  you will need to scan by simply placing them on the glass.  consider 3200 dpi or higher resolution.

a problem that you will encounter is keeping them straight.  consider using a black styrene to create a guide to help you keep the slide straight.  I would use the guide as a straight edge that i could bump the slide up against.

would i recommend taking them out of the cardboard?  no.  cutting down the cardboard?  no.  from experience, i found that trying to do so is a rabbit hole.

when scanning, I would use silverfast on a stand old basis.  if i did not know how to use the software and only had the epson scan utility, I would put it into professional mode to i could "tell the scanner" where to scan using the marquee.  if you go this direction, remember, there are two views on the right  - go with the general view as the thumbail view is known for cutting off images.
